I've been working in St. Louis this past week. Boy, is it hot. How hot is it, you ask?

.....It's so hot that I saw a bird pull a worm from the ground and she was using a potholder.
.....It's so hot that I saw a squirrel sitting in the shade and he was fanning his nuts.
.....It's so hot that I saw a fat guy and he was stewing in his own gravy.

I love these jokes because they're so visual. You can't help getting an image in your mind that's funny. They may be old, but they still make me laugh when I hear them. Except the last one. That one kind of makes me wince.

Just read about blogs in Newsweek last night. It seems like an interesting medium, kind of like an electronic journal. It reminds me of the old Dougie Howser TV show. For the uninitiated, Dougie was a child prodigy who completed his medical degree while still a teenager. He would write a log each night on his computer that encapsulated his daily experiences. This is similar, but more public. Although, whether anyone or no one cares seems irrelevant. It is a useful vehicle to organize and make sense of your ideas. I'll have to see where it takes me.
