"A little learning is a dangerous thing". Most people get this quote wrong and state it as "A little knowledge is a dangerous thing". They probably get it wrong from a lack of learning, which is rather ironic. I wonder where the quote originated. It sounds like it may be from Shakespeare or the Bible. Let me know, if you know.

Do you not understand this parable? How then will you understand all the parables? The sower sows the word. And these are the ones along the path, where the word is sown; when they hear, Satan immediately comes and takes away the word which is sown in them. And these in like manner are the ones sown upon rocky ground, who, when they hear the word, immediately receive it with joy; and they have no root in themselves, but endure for a while; then, when tribulation or persecution arises on account of the word, immediately they fall away. And others are the ones sown among thorns; they are those who hear the word, but the cares of the world, and the delight in riches, and the desire for other things, enter in and choke the word, and it proves unfruitful. But those that were sown upon the good soil are the ones who hear the word and accept it and bear fruit, thirtyfold and sixtyfold and a hundredfold.

It's President's Day! I for one am grateful to the 42 US Presidents who gave us this great day for shopping. George W Bush is actually our 43rd president because Grover Cleveland was elected to a second term after losing his first re-election. Another interesting fact is that Jimmy Carter was the first US President born in a hospital. I think that most people would guess John F Kennedy, because he was born to a wealthy family. Something else that not everyone knows, Abraham Lincoln kept letters and bills under his stovetop hat. That's using your head, Abe! Several presidents did not have a vice president, but only James Buchanan was a bachelor and did not have a wife. The Teddy Bear was named after Teddy Roosevelt because he refused to shoot a mother bear with her cub. You gotta admire a guy like that.
