the little bang

This blog is a continuing stream of consciousness which keeps me amused, out of trouble, or at least minimally awake and is user friendly, cost effective, and may occasionally make one smile for no particular rhyme or reason.

La Toya was voted off American Idol last night. I was certain she'd be in the final two. She gave a great final performance last night. She must really have it together to be able to sing so well just after losing. I predict that she'll have a great career in singing.

Again, I was disgusted with the final winner on survivor. Rob clearly controled every aspect of the game almost from day one. Amber basically rode his coat tails all the way to the end. Unfortunately for Rob, the person calling the shots makes a lot of enemies. If the members of the jury had any integrity, they would have voted for Rob instead of taking one last pathetic potshot at him. It's nice that Rob and Amber are getting married, though. I guess that love can blossom anywhere.

The last show of Friends was just OK. I was never a big fan of the show, so I'm probably not a good judge. It just never grabbed me like MASH, Cheers, or to a lesser degree Seinfeld. A lot of people knocked the final episode of Seinfeld, but they at least had the courage to shake people up by putting the characters in jail. I doubt whether anyone will remember the last Friends show by this time next year. I hope Frasier is better tonight. What would be great would be for some of the Cheers cast to show up. That would kind of bring the series full circle.

American Idol is starting to get interesting. There will be three singers left after tonight. All of them have a decent shot. LaToya is probably the most polished, although she's the one with the least personality. Fantasia sings with the most emotion. Diana, the sixteen year-old, is improving the most and has a strong voice. She might be an upset winner, particulary since so many teenagers like to vote. The Hawaiian girl, Jasmine or Jas I think is her name, probably will be out tonight. She's probably the best looking, but least talented.

There's a new dog in town. I was opening the door to my apartment in St. Louis, when this little wiener dog chased after me. He circled my feet a few times before running back to his owner. It felt like he was shining my shoes with his belly, not a bad feeling. I don't know why little dogs are so attracted to me. On the other hand, cats seemed to be wary. The cat downstairs is always hissing at me. Although, my neighbor told me that the cat was declawed, so hissing is her only form of defense. I don't know why, but that made me so sad when I heard it. Essentially, I must be scaring the cat in some way. Maybe I'll buy it a snack so it won't be frightened any more.
