Yesterday I rented Elephant which is loosely based on the Columbine High School tragedy where two students set off bombs and used guns to kill 12 students and 1 teacher. It was very scary to think that anyone could do something like that. They just walked the halls separately killing people; similar to video games they had played at home. I sometimes wonder, though, why in such a situation no one ever tries to rush up and disarm them. A good chop block at the knees or a punch to the throat would take the fight out of anyone. I guess everyone is too frightened. Certainly the smart move is to find the nearest exit. The world is becoming a sad place when even schools are dangerous.
