I watched three squirrels for a few moments this morning. There's a group of about 6 or 7 trees outside my door where the branches overlap each other. It's amazing how fast a squirrel can climb. They were able to climb the trunk of a tree, the branches, and onto a two-story roof in a matter of seconds. It's also incredible how they jump from branch to branch and from tree to tree so effortlessly. There's no hesitation, they just do it like they've been doing it their whole lives, which I guess they have. I've been to a few sports stores that have a rock-climbing face for customers to try. Humans seem to take forever when climbing. Squirrels just do it without thinking and have such great balance. They're kind of like circus performers, but they never need a net.
