Another work week bites the dust. Thank goodness. I'm the last one here and it's a little spooky. It reminds me of an old Dick Van Dyke show where Rob was working late at the office. I think that he made the comment that it was like being the last living cell in a dead body. Something like that. Anyway, I know how he felt because it feels a little creepy when no one else is around. Since I am in the mood, let me think of my favorite scary movies of all time. One of my favorite shows was Creature Features which ran late at night during the weekend years ago. They used to show a lot of great old monster movies that were made in black and white. I don't remember the names of most of them, but they usually had one of the four characters: Dracula, Frankenstein, the Wolfman, or the Mummy. They were fun to watch, but they weren't very good. Still, with a fresh bowl of popcorn in front of the TV and a bottle of Coke it was decent entertainment. The best scary movies are probably: Alien, Night of the Living Dead, the Shining, Carrie, Halloween, and the Exorcist. Even now, I still get a little frightened when I hear the music from Halloween or the Exorcist. That reminds me that Jaws was also pretty scary at times and the music when the shark was near made you squirm. The winner is definitely the Exorcist. When Linda Blair twisted her head around or started levitating towards the ceiling, it doesn't get any scarier. Who will ever forget the scene where she projectile vomits pea soup on the priest. Now it almost seems funny, but thirty years ago it made Dracula seem like a nice guy. Gotta go.
