the little bang

This blog is a continuing stream of consciousness which keeps me amused, out of trouble, or at least minimally awake and is user friendly, cost effective, and may occasionally make one smile for no particular rhyme or reason.

I finally watched a good movie last night. I was getting desperate after the two bad movies that I saw last weekend. I had to rent it from Blockbuster because there are no good movies playing at the moment. Late summer is a dead time for the movie industry. I watched "High Crimes" starring Ashley Judd, Morgan Freeman, and Amanda Peet. It's a suspense movie about a war crime that was committed in Central America. Ashley is a lawyer who defends her husband in a military court with the help of Morgan, an ex-alcoholic military lawyer. Amanda is Ashley's hot sister in a very believable role. The movie had a good plot and great acting. The ending was a little abrupt, however.
Rating: Three Stars

I learned something new last night. New releases are always distributed on Tuesdays. That makes Tuesday a great night for renting a movie. I actually saw the first half of "High Crimes" a few months ago when travelling to St. Louis. We were unable to land and redirected to Kansas City to refuel before returning to St. Louis. They played a movie to calm the agitated passengers, but we landed in St. Louis before the ending. So, I waited weeks for the video release to find out the ending. It was worth the wait.
